Quilliam is the premier provider of radicalization awareness training: we are set apart by the fact that all our training sessions are jointly delivered with former members of radical Islamist organizations. It is very difficult for someone who has not experienced extremism first hand to be aware of the inner workings of such organizations. More importantly, it is not possible for them to be familiar with extremists’ recruiting techniques and methods of indoctrination.
Quilliam trainers are unique in their capability to offer an in-depth insight into a subject area which, often, many Muslims misunderstand. Our trainers also understand Islamism as expressed in a Western context, which differs from the way it is presented in the Muslim East, making our training even more relevant.
Our training products have been developed by former leading members of Islamist organizations and individuals who have training and teaching backgrounds. Our syllabus is continuously updated to keep it relevant to, and in tune with the needs of our clients.
The Radicalization Awareness Programme (RAP) has been designed by former Islamists who have first hand knowledge and experience of the tactics, methods, and strategies used by radical Islamist organizations and detailed knowledge of the Islamist ideology which is used to indoctrinate new recruits. These individuals also have backgrounds in Islamic disciplines and experience of producing and delivering a wide range of training programmes.
The training intends to develop a practicable understanding of the following:
We are confident that our programmes can develop capacity within civil society to be able to recognise signs of extremism, differentiate between religious and ideological expression and enable direct engagement for those who are suitably placed to do so. They will also give practitioners and policy makers from a wide range of backgrounds the confidence and assurance to intervene when deemed necessary.
