Over the course of 3 days, former extremists from a dozen countries and forty groups discussed possible solutions that could be effective at addressing the challenge of radicalization.

Quilliam's Co-Founder and Executive Director and Founder of Khudi, Maajid Nawaz, as well as Senior Analyst, Noman Benotman, and Head of Pro-Democracy Activism, Fatima Mullick, were in attendance and contributed to the panel discussions.

Maajid's panel focussed on the topic of finding common ground between extremes. What could an inner-city gang member have in common with an Islamic fundamentalist? What could a skinhead have in common with a non-religious extremist? On the surface, not much perhaps. And that is why the concept of radicalization is often misunderstood in the press and in academia. But if we look deeper, perhaps these groups have more in common than we would think. This session explored the idea that what unites these groups may be far greater than what divides them.
