Senior Research Fellow James Brandon took part in a British Council conference on youth in the Arab World between 18th and 20th November 2008.
The conference took place in Jordan and examined the ways in which the British Council could work with young people in the Middle East to tackle issues such as unemployment, economic inequality and religious extremism in the region and to help governments and civil society organizations to identify practical solutions to these problems.
The event was attended by journalists, writers and activists from Europe and across the Middle East as well as by a number of young people from around the Arab World.
